PDP governorship candidate Malam Muhammad Nami has fulfilled his pledge of N15 million and 38 motorcycles to the families of 37 artisanal miners who died in custody in Niger State, with the support presented through his Niger South Foundation.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Niger State, Malam Muhammad Nami, has fulfilled his earlier pledge of N15 million and 38 motorcycles to the families of 37 artisanal miners who died in NSCDC custody in the state.

The support was channelled through the Niger South Foundation, a humanitarian NGO Nami founded about two decades ago. His deputy governorship candidate, Alhaji Dahiru Danhazami Abdul, led the delegation that presented the funds and motorcycles to the bereaved families on Nami's behalf.

Abdul urged the families to "take heart and remain strong," saying the gesture was a show of solidarity and praying for their comfort.

The Chairman of the Niger South Foundation, Dr Muhammed Shabba, said the organisation is committed to supporting vulnerable people — especially those facing unforeseen hardship — and that the donation reflected its concern for the families' welfare and its aim to offer practical help in a difficult time.
